The situation
The homeowners called it “the gray driveway” – until their realtor gently explained it was supposed to be white. Fifteen years of Carolina pollen, mildew, oak-leaf tannin, and two teenagers’ worth of parked-car drips had built a layer so even, everyone assumed it was the color of the concrete.
They were three weeks from listing the house. The brief: make the entrance match the renovated interior, don’t kill the boxwoods lining the walkway, and be done before the photographer came Thursday.
What we did
- Pre-treat – degreaser on the oil patches, oxalic on the rust trail from the irrigation head.
- Hot-water surface clean – 210°F through the 28″ surface cleaner, two passes, even walking speed.
- Edge & detail – wand work along the lawn lines, walkway, and garage apron.
- Post-treat – a light algaecide rinse to slow regrowth through listing season.
The result
Listing photos got taken from the driveway – on purpose. The sellers’ agent told us the first showing comment was about “how well the house had been kept,” which is exactly the trick: nobody compliments a clean driveway, they just trust the whole property more.
