Plan resilient landscapes before storm season arrives.

Resilient landscapes begin with structure, drainage and realistic expectations about wind and salt exposure.

Place the strongest canopy and screening elements where they can mature without crowding buildings, utilities or primary paths. Layer smaller planting below so the landscape still feels complete while trees establish.

Drainage deserves equal attention. Direct runoff away from gathering areas, keep overflow paths clear and avoid trapping water against walls or low thresholds.

A seasonal maintenance plan should identify what to secure, prune or move before severe weather. Simple preparation is easier when access and storage were considered during design.
